Here's how we can help

Legal Services

Our practice is intentionally focused. We work in areas of law where the consequences are serious and the need for clear, experienced counsel is essential. Gryba Gratton represents individuals, families, and institutional clients in criminal defence and child protection matters, with specialised support available in defined circumstances.

Child Protection & Child and Family Services

Clear, practical representation for parents, caregivers, and youth navigating child protection proceedings and Ministry involvement.

Who we represent

Depending on the file and the circumstances, we may assist:

  • Parents and caregivers responding to a child protection proceeding
  • Children and youth who require independent legal representation
  • Clients involved in placement, access, and related child protection issues
  • Individuals who do not qualify for Legal Aid and need private counsel
  • Clients appointed counsel through court or through referral/appointment processes where applicable

Legal Aid assists many parents in this area. Where Legal Aid is not available, families are often left trying to navigate a complex system on their own. We can assist as private counsel or in other appointed capacities where appropriate.

Criminal
Defence

Strategic, steady defence for individuals facing criminal charges — focused on protecting your rights, reputation, and future.

What we help with

Criminal defence files are rarely “one-size-fits-all.” The right approach depends on the facts, the law, and what’s at stake for you. We regularly assist with matters involving:

  • Impaired driving, over .08, dangerous driving, and related driving offences
  • Drug offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (possession, trafficking, and related allegations)
  • Assault and other offences involving allegations of personal harm
  • Domestic violence-related charges and no-contact conditions
  • Sexual offence allegations
  • Theft, break and enter, and property offences
  • Weapons-related charges
  • Manslaughter, murder, criminal negligence, and other serious charges
  • Outstanding warrants, breaches, and failures to appear
  • Youth Criminal Justice Act matters
  • Applications and hearings, including more complex proceedings where experienced counsel is essential
